About

Hello,

welcome to my personal corner in the vast www. Take a seat, take a cookie.

My homepage is a small collection of programs I wrote, devices I built and thoughts I had. Unfortunately for you, I don’t update it regularly.

If I’m not busy with my various hobbies I work as a physicist and count stripes. More technically, we run Monte-Carlo-simulations of lowdimensional Ising systems frustrated by long-range interactions, and try to interpret the results. This rather theoretical work is mostly done to better understand some properties of very thin magnetic films, but interestingly many systems involving stripes share common properties: the study of thin films has lead to some theories on the shape of the stripe pattern in tigers.

Live long and prosper!
